¶ Sales data indicate that Blu-Ray discs are outselling HD-DVDs approximately 2-to-1, and the gap seems to be widening. This, in spite of HD-DVDs getting to market months before Blu-Ray. This is probably "who gives a shit?" news, but being in a Blu-Ray-early-adopter family, it's nice to know that I'm not a retard for getting that Superman 2 director's cut on Blu instead of a regular DVD. Nobody wants to be that guy with a giant stack of Beta tapes. Plus, on the super-high def picture you can see all of Christopher Reeve's pores and a great deal of Margot Kidder's crazy. Good times.
¶ Tony Blair, already on his way out two years early over public anger with the Iraq war, may be leaving a bit sooner. A cash-for-peerages scandal, and what's starting to look like a small cover-up have Labour leaders looking to have him gone by Easter, before he brings the party's prospects down with him.
¶ “He’s an attractive guy. He’s articulate. I’ve been impressed with him when I’ve seen him in person.”
- President Bush. Also on Barack Obama. To which I say: For Christ's sake, people. Stop calling him articulate. And stop sounding so surprised about it. It's a bit like being impressed that he doesn't steal stuff.
Barack Obama doesn't steal stuff? Whoa...get me off that Edwards bus because I am impressed! Also: My parents still have a lot of Beta tapes and a working BetaMax. You're just jealous because you can't watch (still remarkably high-quality) videos taped off of MTV from 25 years ago. Or a store-bought copy of The Dream Team. Hm?
